One Promising Day

Peeling back like an orange,

its tantalizing beauty reminds

me of the freshness of fruit.

One promising day

unfolds into another

and releases its

tantalizing freshness

into places

wearied and worn

by winter’s solemn silence.

Now summer awakens,

Bold and bright–

Dripping with life.
