How do you overcome doubt when the unexpected happens and God seems silent? Perhaps unbelief settles in the soil of your heart–having been catapulted there by anxiety, depression, or an unwelcome health crisis. Or maybe you wrestle with other seeds the Enemy plants in the garden of your heart.

Today, guest author Barbara Latta shares five beautiful prayers to battle doubt, unforgiveness, and more.

Christian Living

Adam and Eve lived in a beautiful garden with no thorns or thistles, no bugs that bite, and no bad weather. They enjoyed the perfect environment—until the Serpent sowed his seeds of doubt and unbelief into their minds.

Satan has been sowing the same seeds in humanity ever since.

The first couple transgressed and had no way to remove the Satanic seeds from their hearts.

But because of what Christ did on the cross and through His resurrection, we have an arsenal Adam and Eve didn’t have—the Sword of the Spirit.

When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He used Scripture against His adversary. There is no greater example for us in dealing with the fallen angel and no greater weapon than the Word of God.

Seeds of Doubt May Appear Harmless

Thoughts can enter our minds like seeds that drift through the air.  Dandelion seeds are fun to blow into the wind. We watch them float into the atmosphere never to be seen again. But they are seen again in the form of new dandelions that grow where the seeds landed.

The small parachutes appear harmless. The round balls of fluff appeal to the sense of fun but harbor danger to a well-manicured lawn.

The Enemy’s reflections can land and plant themselves unless we recognize and uproot the words and accusations before full-blown growth occurs. At first, we may not recognize the danger.

Some impressions may appeal to our senses and draw us into fleshly temptation. Others can accuse and condemn drawing us away from the value God has placed on us. -BarbaraLatta Share on X

These 5 Prayers Can Remove Satan’s Seeds from Our Hearts

We can stand on these as our defense against a disastrous harvest when we feel poisonous brambles creep into the garden of our souls from every direction.

A Prayer Against Seeds of Spiritual Blindness

Father, thank you for giving me the spirit of wisdom that I may be able to recognize the deceit of the devil. As I gain more revelation of the knowledge of Christ and my eyes are opened to my inheritance, I will know that the power that is within me is the same power You used when You raised Your Son from the dead.

Amen

(Ephesians 1:17-19)\

A Prayer Against Seeds of Unforgiveness

Lord God, help me to remember that people are not my enemy. Help me keep my eyes open to the reality of who is attacking me and that the spirit behind persecution or disagreement is from a fallen spirit–not another person. Show me how to respond in a Godly way so my speech can be full of grace and seasoned with salt.

Amen

(Ephesians 6:12 and Colossians 4:6)

A Prayer Against Seeds of Deception and False Doctrine

Spirit of God, please illuminate me against deception. As I find truth through You, I will recognize the falsehoods that hide behind imitation light. Lead me back to what You say so I can avoid believing false doctrines and falling into worldly philosophies because they appeal to my emotions.

Amen

(John 8:32-36 and 2 Corinthians 11:14)

Prayer Against Seeds of Doubt and Disbelief

Father in heaven, thank You that You are my protection against the lies the Devil tries to plant in my soul. When thoughts of doubt and unbelief wrap around my head, help me remember You are my vindication. No weapon the Devil attacks me with can succeed. His words are only negative seeds, and I can cast down his lying tongue with the powerful weapon of Your Words.

Amen

(Isaiah 54:17; 1 John 4:4)

Prayer Against Seeds of Envy and Comparison

Lord, thank You for making me in Your image. There is no one else like me. I am not like others for a reason. Help me to know and walk in the purpose and calling of my life and to focus on You, not what others or the world thinks of me. When seeds of fear tell me that my life is missing something, please remind me of what Your Word says. I am created to bring glory to You and serve the body of Christ in my calling, not someone else’s.

Amen.

(1 Corinthians 12:11, 27; 2 Corinthians 10:12)

Before Christ ascended into heaven, He left His disciples and all future believers with the knowledge that His authority against the devil belongs to us. When we depend upon the gardener of our souls, we will grow flowers of faith instead of weeds of disaster.

What are some other prayers you pray against seeds of the enemy?
