A Prayer for Those Battling for Their Mental Health
Father,
Your word reassures me that you “have plans to give me a hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11), but I feel as though “my days have no meaning” (Job 7:15-16). Holy Spirit, I invite your truth to sink into the sorrow-soaked places of my heart and mind.
Jesus, in your darkest valley you experienced emotional anguish and wept tears of blood. I know you understand my pain and that you promise “life abundant” (John 10:10). But the one who comes to “steal, kill, and destroy” (John 10:10) taunts me with the untruth that this is all there is to life. I cry out to you, “I do believe; help my unbelief.” (Mark 9:24)
Today, I lay my pain at your feet as a “living sacrifice” (2 Corinthians 10:5) and by your strength, “choose life”. Help me to “take every thought captive.” (Deuteronomy 30:19-20).

A Prayer for Peace and Wholeness
Dear Jesus,
How I long for peace in my life – for completeness, well-being, and contentment. Despite my best efforts, nothing satisfies the longing of my heart. In my search for wholeness, I have rebelled against you.
Father, forgive me. Forgive me for believing anything, or anyone other than you will give me the peace you offer. Today, Jesus, I proclaim you as Lord – the risen Son of God.
Merciful Christ, please bind my heart to yours. Give me freedom from any addiction, sexual hang-up, or other sins that keep me from loving you, and help me remember that you are my peace and my salvation.

A Prayer When You Struggle With Anxiety, Fear, or Worry
Father,
Fear, anxiety, and worry in my heart breed overwhelm. Help me release my concerns into your capable hands. I know you “shall neither slumber nor sleep” (Psalm 121: 3 NKJV) and my life is secure with you, Lord. Give me a clear mind able to focus on the priorities you place in my life without borrowing concerns because “each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34 NASB). And, Jesus, show me how to exchange my burdensome yoke for the one you offer for I am weary and in need of rest. (Matthew 11:28-30)
I ask all of this in Jesus’ holy name,

A Prayer for You if Your Child Battles Suicidal Ideation
Lord,
I am overwhelmed by heartache. When I first held my son/daughter in my arms, I never imagined s/he would wage a war with suicide. Please, Father, protect my child from the Enemy’s arrows. He comes to “steal, kill, and destroy” (John 10:10) but you Jesus came that s/he “might have life, and…might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10) I speak life abundant over ____________. Please, breathe your life into her/him as you breathed life into Adam and give my child fresh hope for each day.
